Sri Krishna
Though known by many different names in many traditions,But there is only one God. Krishna is the original person. The word Krishna means the person who is attractive to everyone.
Sri krishna appeared over five thousand years ago in Mathura, dist of state UP (India) to Devaki and Vasudeva in the jail of Kansa. Kansa was the king og mathura and mama ofthe loard krishna .The place of His birth is known as Sri Krishna JanmBhumi.
The Supreme Lord descends from time to time in this material world to reestablish the teachings of the Vedas. In His Bhagavad-gita, Sri krishna promises: "Whenever and wherever there is a decline in religious practice, O descendant of Bharata, and a predominant rise of irreligion--at that time I descend Myself. To deliver the pious and to annihilate the miscreants, as well as to reestablish the principles of religion, I Myself appear milleniumm after millenium."
Although eternal the Lord appears in specific circumstances out of mercy for His devotees. In fact, His principal biography, the Srimad Bhagavatam states, "the learned men describe the births and activities of the Unborn and Inactive." Therefore, although He appears within the material dimensions of time and space, He is most definitely not of it.
Historically, Sri krishna appeared on the midnight of the 8th day of the dark half of the month of Sravana. This corresponds to July 19th 3228 BC. He exhibited His pastimes for a little over 125 years and dissappeared on February 18th 3102 BC on the new moon night of Phalguna. (His departure marks the beginning of the current age of corruption known as Kali.)
The great scholar Srila Vishvanatha Chakravarti neatly outlines Sri krishna's activities in this way: the first three years and four months were spent in Gokula, then equal lengths of time in Vmdavana and Nandagram, eighteen years and four months in Mathura, and finally ninety-six years and eight months in Dvaraka totalling 125 years of manifest pastimes. See the Krishna-lila chart.

What's more fascinating about the Potter series, following the somewhat inspired awkwardness of emerging puberty in Prisoner of Azkaban, is watching young Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron (Rupert Grint), and Hermione (Emma Watson) figure out what to do with their emerging sexuality. The best sequences in Goblet of Fire have little to do with whether evil Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes, his performance buried under a ton of stretchy make-up) will kill Harry, since that outcome is never in doubt. Instead, the best sequences involve Harry and Ron's shy inability to muster up the courage to ask Hermione to the annual wizard's ball and her seething frustration with her pathetic Jules and Jim compatriots. Her interest in a handsome young jock (strapping Bulgarian Stanislav Ianevski) who treats her like a princess at the ball gets ruined by Ron's bitter sulking and Harry's complacent indifference. Goblet of Fire taps into that bitter curse of inarticulate young love, particularly inspired in a scene where Harry works up the nerve to ask another girl to the dance and getting politely, gently rejected. Those small moments of teen angst, which seemed to comprise the whole of the generally superior Prisoner of Azkaban (where David Thewlis's werewolf professor set the stage for suppressed desires raging within), are handled well by the teen actors, now in their fourth year at Hogwarts and growing agreeably into their roles. But what would Harry Potter be without its conventional Nancy Drew plots, which always somehow overwhelms the character development by having Harry & Co. undergo various trials by fire. This time, it has to do with the Triwizard Tournament, which pits Harry against student representatives from rival schools, which, as usual, is an elaborate trap schemed by outside forces to bring about the return of Lord Voldemort. The weakest scene, indeed, involves the return of Voldemort in a creaky graveyard. Considering he's the most one-dimensional stock villain imaginable, at least at this point in the Harry Potter series, there's remarkably little in the way of threat coming from the Dark Lord. That leaves the assembly of British character actors to pick up the slack, and many of them turn in enjoyable cameos as they punch in their clocks. Brendan Gleeson has the most fun as a Dr. Strangelove type: a one-legged, one-eyed, battle-scarred professor waddling around the hugely constructed CGI sets giving his fellow cast members the evil (one) eye. Michael Gambon takes wise old Professor Dumbledore in an earthy, humane direction, and Miranda Richardson hams it up beautifully as a smarmy journalist. The usual suspects (Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, Robbie Coltrane) have their moments to shine, while unlucky Gary Oldman's appearance is as a CGI facemask of talking coals and embers emerging from a fireplace. Prisoner of Azkaban director Alfonso Cuarón showed sensitivity to the characters and placed them in a Charles Dickens landscape, attentive to all the musty details of aged locations. Goblet of Fire is a workmanlike effort by Mike Newell, who helmed Four Weddings and a Funeral and shows no talent for action sequences but has an underlying sweetness in his approach to young love. Audiences that have grown attached to young Harry, Hermione, and Ron will be pleased to see them working through their growing pains. Would that the fantasy elements of the Potter series were as fantastic as the simple act of surviving young adulthood. DVD Review: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Mohali, March 31It’s official now. The Mohali team, being led by all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, is “Kings XI Punjab”. This was formally announced by the co-promoter of the team and actor Preity Zinta during the launch ceremony of the team at the Punjab Cricket Stadium here today.
The ceremony, the venue of which was shifted from the Sector 17 plaza to the stadium due to security reasons, started around 8 pm.
“The people of Punjab are brave, royal and with huge hearts. During our SMS campaign for suggesting the name of the team, we got tremendous response. Many names like Maharaja XI, Balle-Balle XI, came up. But we decided to have a name that evinced royalty, bravery and the spirit of the people of the state,” Preity Zinta said while unveiling the logo of the team during an unimpressive ceremony.
Yuvraj Singh, Irfan Pathan, Sree Santh, Piyush Chawla, Bombay Dyeing scion Ness Wadia, PCA president I.S. Bindra and pop singer Daler Mehndi were present.
Terming the players as “sher of Punjab”, Preity said like the people of the region, the franchise also had pinned “great hopes on our players who are the youngest team”.
“Our logo has two roaring lions and symbolises not only the spirit of Punjabis, but also represents Maharaja Ranjit Singh and Maharaja of Patiala, Bhupinder Singh, who was the first Indian to lead an Indian cricket team to the Lord’s in 1911. On the banner, KJHPH stand for the five states of the region — Kashmir, Jammu, Himachal, Punjab and Haryana,” she said.
Yuvraj said the team was well-balanced and consisted of young and smart cricketers. “It is very nice to be back here. I hope we will emerge winner,” he said, appealing fans to be present during matches.

In order for Suzuki to reclaim the top of the heap, changes to the 9-year old 'Busa would be many. For starters, 1,299 cubic centimeters wouldn't suffice. While bore remained at 81mm, a 2mm increase in the stroke (63 vs. 65mm) gave the new bird a respectable 1,340cc powerhouse. Compression ratio increased from 11.0 to 12.5:1 thanks to new forged pistons that attach to a new forged crank via shot-peened chro-moly connecting rods. In the head, titanium valves (all 16 of 'em!) of the same size as the first gen 'Busa reduced rotating mass enough to warrant using only a single valve spring instead of the usual duo. A new camshaft with higher lift on both intake and exhaust sides has revised timing

Potter Rules...

LONDON: Thousands of Harry Potter fans, including those who especially flew down from around the world, had lined up until midnight to grab the new
book in the series. Voracious readers flocked to London to get hold of the first copies of author J.K. Rowling's 'The Tales of Beedle the Bard', which is expected to become an international best-seller. The collection of short stories mentioned in the final book of the boy wizard series has had a global print count of nearly 7.5 million copies, reports the Telegraph. Bookseller Waterstone's spokesman Jon Howells said: "We are expecting it to go straight to number one for Christmas, sales for tomorrow alone should be well into six figures. "It's in with a fighting chance to become the best-selling book of the year, which is pretty remarkable when you think how little time there is left in the race."
British actor Daniel Radcliffe has accepted he'll forever be linked to his wand-wielding character Harry Potter - because his role in the film has "given him everything".
The 19-year-old attempted to shed his boyish image when he stripped for a full frontal nude seen on London and New York stages in Equus. But Radcliffe insists he'll always be thankful for his magical role in the blockbuster franchise.
He says: "It's a reality you have to come to terms with - rather than letting it bother you, just accept the fact that there will always be some people who will forever see you for the one part you are most famous for.
"It's not that I want to distance myself from it because... they've given me everything... it's just a matter of being an actor rather than a character."

The Boy Who Lived...

Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. The books chronicle the adventures of the eponymous adolescent wizard Harry Potter, together with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, his friends from the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The central story arc concerns Harry's struggle against the evil wizard Lord Voldemort, who killed Harry's parents in his quest to conquer the wizarding world and subjugate non-magical (Muggle) people to his rule. Several successful derivative films, video games and other themed merchandise have been based upon the series.
Since the 1997 release of the first novel
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which was retitled Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the United States, the books have gained immense popularity, critical acclaim and commercial success worldwide. As of June 2008, the book series has sold more than 400 million copies and has been translated into 67 languages, and the last four books have consecutively set records as the fastest-selling books in history.
English-language versions of the books are published by
Bloomsbury in the United Kingdom, Scholastic Press in the United States, Allen & Unwin in Australia, and Raincoast Books in Canada. Thus far, the first five books have been made into a series of motion pictures by Warner Bros. The sixth, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, is scheduled for release on 17 July 2009. The series also originated much tie-in merchandise, making the Harry Potter brand worth £7 billion (US$15 billion).
